Ricoh copier | Precision control of toner and chip capacity matching

01. Technical background

A customer asked us: Is there any way to check the current capacity of the Ricoh copier toner cartridge chip?

This question is raised because when customers use the toner cartridge chip, there is a situation of "using a high-capacity chip to match a low-capacity toner cartridge" or "using a low-capacity chip to match a high-capacity toner cartridge" (see Figure 1), which leads to a situation where the chip and the toner cartridge do not match.

02. Solution

For the problem raised by the customer, our engineers gave the following solution: Ricoh copier original chip or compatible chip, by operating on the machine to check the current capacity of the toner cartridge chip, so as to determine the number of grams of toner that needs to be added to the toner cartridge.

The toner cartridge chips of regular original Ricoh copiers on the market define the toner cartridge capacity in standard grams when they leave the factory (see Figure 2)

By checking the actual capacity, consumption capacity and remaining capacity of each color toner cartridge chip on the machine, we can know the grams of toner that needs to be replenished, so as to replenish the toner correctly and accurately control the matching degree between toner and chip capacity.
